Members' Doings

Marylin McNie reports that many GAS members took part in the AppArt Exhibition at Prior's Field School recently, 750 works were shown, attendances were up on last year's event, and sales were high. Congratulations to those who did well. GAS Monthly Challenge Our Challenge for April was ......... Perspective and you submitted 15 excellent entries - several from members who haven't submitted Challenge entries before - and the general view is that the standard keeps getting better!

As always, the entries were anonymised and put on Instagram, and the ten entries with the most Instagram "likes" were then submitted, still anonymised, to our illustrious panel - which includes our Chairman Sinclair and our President Jane Allison - many thanks to all once again The panellists were asked to rank the entries first, second and third, and the results were combined to determine the final placings and we again had quite a spread of votes, with five different entries getting a first from the panel. The clear winner - which was also the winner based on "likes" was this excellent painting by Peter Robinson

In second place was this very imaginative painting by Heather Tipton

And in third place this beauty by Claire Wade

Congratulations to all who entered

All 15 entries can be seen on the GAS Instagram page, the top ten will appear soon on the GAS website, and the winner will receive a voucher prize. If you're reading this on our website click on the April Challenge icon on the right to see the top ten The Challenge for May is ....... My Kind Of Heaven. Entries won't open until the first of June so please don't send your entry before then And as always - - Just one entry per person - A .jpeg or .jpg file - not a link to your website - Ask your friends to put a like against ALL the entries they like, not only your masterpiece - Be aware of Copyright - for info click on the Gallery tab on the GAS website and you'll find guidance and useful links And Finally - From You To Us!
