WHAT HAPPENED IN MARCH

On Saturday 22nd March we were extremely pleased to welcome Catherine McVean, an artist who is new to demonstrating for our society. Catherine's chosen genre was still life, her subject was a small bunch of daffodils which she painted in oils.
It was clear to see that not only is Catherine a very talented and accomplished artist but an excellent tutor who guided us comprehensively through every step in her process. She was delighted to answer questions on all aspects of her work and, in addition to the wealth of information she gave us on Saturday, has kindly supplied further details to help those who wish to follow up on the demo with their own work at home.
The brilliant news is that Catherine has also agreed to do a workshop for us in the near future. The subject matter will be a still life or flowers. She will work in oils but attendees can choose their own medium. Further details to come soon so watch this space!

LOOKING FOR A NEW TREASURER
Our Society is urgently looking for a new Treasurer to join our team!
We need someone who is comfortable with numbers, computer-literate, and ideally has

A good working knowledge of Excel would be especially helpful.
Your main responsibilities will include tracking our finances and managing artist payments.
If you or someone you know would be a great fit for this role, please reach out!
As a committee, we meet every 2-3 months—and our meetings always include coffee and
biscuits!
A full handover will be provided by Caroline to ensure a smooth transition.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE LIFE LONG MEMBERS
Are you a lifelong member of Guildford Art Society, or have you been with us for many
years? If so, we’d love to hear from you! We’re putting together something special and
would be delighted if you'd like to be involved.
Please get in touch at secretary.gas@outlook.com and share a little about yourself — where
you're based (just the general area is fine!) and a bit about your artistic journey.
We look forward to hearing from you!
JOIN OUR THURSDAY ART MORNINGS!
We're hosting relaxed and friendly art mornings every Thursday at St Catherine's Village Hall

support and advice from fellow artists if you'd like.
The 10-week session starts on May 1st and costs £48 for GAS members.
